Position Overview:

The Sponsorship officer is an integral staff member in End Poverty Now’s team.  It is responsible for participating in the fundraising operations of End Poverty Now, focusing specifically on reaching out to potential sponsors for our fundraising and public awareness events, as well as reaching out to individual donors.


Approximate workload:

Approximately 5-10 hours/week

With emphasis on quality of work as opposed to set hours


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approach potential sponsors and meet up with them through cold calling and personal networking
  • Door-to-door solicitation of businesses to team up with EPN
  • Fill out sponsorship applications, where needed
  • Update and tailor EPN sponsorship publications to specific campaigns
  • Setup and expand EPN's donor base through regular communications

 

Profile Requirements:

  • Strong interest in poverty alleviation
  • Strong interest in fundraising for a social cause
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Outgoing and extraverted personality

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • French and English bilingualism
  • Previous sponsorship experience in the non-profit sector
  • Undergraduate/graduate degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Must be organized and have the ability to use creative methods to achieve goals
